Note:  This is not a discussion of the utility/desirability/need for etc.... of the DAK system.  It has been well flogged in another thread.

I am interested in maybe converting this pistol to SA/DA with SRT like my Mk25.  It is a very smooth DA after 5000  rounds on the original pistol but nothing like the Mk25 with a SRT and factory trigger job.  I got a great deal on this slightly used pistol.

I do not see much demand for the DAK so I wonder if it is worth it to try selling it of just getting the conversion done.  I am curious if there is any demand for DAKs anymore.

Interested in this as well... I have a spare barrel for my 9mm, and .40 DAK models come up for sale cheaper.

I had SIG do a conversion years back. I believe I was in it $200-$250 all said.

Definitely keep it if you like it.

topgunsupply.com has a list of parts you need to do it.  If they don't have all the stuff, send it to Sig, or Robert Burke, thesigarmorer.com

If you sell it,depending on what you paid, you will probably take a big loss as there are many around me for selling less than $450.00 for a 9mm. If it is for a .40,expect prices to be lower. I would convert it as you can check on some websites for people selling the parts or even wanting to trade your parts for theirs.

I picked up a 229DAK PD trade in chambered in 9mm awhile ago, I bought one of the 228 kits when they were floating around on Gunbroker. I swapped out the parts necessary to bring it up to SA/DA specs and then sold the 228 kit off for what I paid for it.. My 229 even had a magazine disconnect that was also removed while I had it apart..

I converted one of mine. The parts were about $100 through a friend who is a Sig armorer (I'm not sure how much of a discount it was but it seems to have been a good deal). I did not do the SRT, just DA/SA.

Parts are around $225 iirc, bonus is you get to skip right to upgraded parts like the SRT. The frames are identical.
