I have an older model p229 with a rail. I bought it as a cpo a number of years ago and I rarely shoot it. Long story short, I am having problems with ejecting the empty case. I replaced the ejector and spring. Still no luck. I look at it tonight and I notice this inside the chamber. It looks like a pin hole or something. I don't see anything like this in any of my other guns. Can anyone tell me if their p series pistol has a similar marking inside the chamber?

Am I doing this pic thing wrong? WTF?

What happened to it when you cleaned it?

I don't think that would make a difference with ejecting. What ammo. are you using? Was the gun dirty at all prior to shooting? How old/worn or type-(stock/extra power, etc.) is the recoil spring? Is it every round? Is the barrel clean on that pic?

Do  you see marks from that spot on the ejected cases? If it's deep enough, the brass could be flowing into that spot and causing drag, but you'd see the bulge on the case.

I never looked at the brass. I actually didn't notice the inside of the chamber until I was taking it apart last night. There was less than 200 rounds since the last cleaning. I scrubbed it and the chamber appears smooth now, but the circle is still there. It looks like a pin, but I now have for the most part dismissed it as the cause of the fte issues.

To answer a prior question, it fails to pull the brass completely out of the chamber and this happens once every 20 rounds or so.  Different ammo, all factory loads.

The springs I believe are replaced when it it is reconditioned at Sig and in the few years I have owned it, it has had around 500 rounds through it. It pretty much sits in my gun room all the time.

So I am pretty sure I will just send it in to Sig and see what it costs me. I am out of other ideas at this point.
