I am looking at a used full to mid size 9mm.
I was looking at a beretta 92a1 or a sig 226. I am leaning toward the sig. Which sig do you like better and why. sig 226 or sig 2022? On the 226 would you go with the newer stainless slide and railed frame or the older German folded slide gun? |

What do you plan to do with the gun?? 226 for suppression. Otherwise I have no input. Yeah, you gotta give us an idea of what your gonna use it for for. Carry, home defense, target shooting. If you think you'll want to carry it then, where do you wanna carry it, on or off body and if on your person, where on your person. It's a lot of questions to answers and those answers will no doubt lead to more questions. Your unlikely to get it exactly right the first time and then when you do finally get it right, the needs will change. Give us some more details. Please |

Not for carry. Or unless I had to.
Home defense. range shooting ect. I am a lefty and plan on installing xs big dot. I ask because some really don't like any think that comes out of sig usa, but I never get a really good reason. Just crappy quality control. I do not know. I like the finish on the 2022. Anyway I hope that give you the info you need. thanks again |

Tell me more about the P320. I did like the feel of the P250 just did not like the DAO.
When I first saw an ad for a P320 it said DAO. I was like nope not for me. But I have done a little more treading about it. Its sticker fired. Also has a slide release on the correct sid efor us leftys. |

I can't speak on behalf of the 226. Also, I had a 92FS. Bottom line, I love my P320! I really like my 2022 but I prefer the P320 more. I hope this helps. lol.

It is a "DAO" the cycling of the slide almost completely cocks the striker. the take up on the trigger finishes the cocking of the striker and then releases the sear, thus making it double action since the trigger does two functions. much like the glock except the trigger on the 320 is 1000x better. the trigger is nothing like the 250, which is much like a revolver but by technical definition it is a DAO. Go to your LGS and ask to dry fire a 320 and you won't be disappointed. |

I put off buying a P226 for years because I didn't think they were very left handed shooter friendly. I was wrong and find I have no issues working the decocker with my left trigger finger and I slingshot the slide rather than using the release. |
| My Personal Choice would be the P226 West German, but I am partial to them since I bought My first P226 in 1988 and My first Sig a P225 in 1986. I currently Own a P226 Nickel West German and a P220 West German and wouldn't trade either one for a Newer Sig. But as stated its all about Personal Preference. |

I have a 226 in 357 Sig, 9MM, and 22 LR. My BUG is a 9MM Shield and I have seriously considered picking up a Sig similar in size the Shield...
I have an S&W M&P 357 Sig that I carried for 3 years (on duty) that now lives in a clean but comfy spot in the safe. I used to talk mad crap about the Sig P series, but finally saw the light. My only real complaint with the P226 is the decocker and slide stop are reversed. I have over 20 years experience with hand guns (Glock, 1911, Beretta, S&W M&P, HK,) I still shoot the 1911 series the best, but I have grown quite fond of the Sig. I will also say that the last time I qualified (2 weeks ago) I shot a clean series both day and night, with the 226... Long story short, Sig or Beretta = Sig! |
