I have seen them going for between 350 and 550 depending if you have night sites,
are you the original owner, and do you have a round count? Date code?
The extra info will help you to set your price where it belongs.

Anything under $500 is a good deal for a mint P228.  You can get them for under $400, but you won't know how good the finish will be til is gets here.  P228's are great guns.

You could take the middle road and get a Certified Pre-Owned Sig from Sig. Frame finish may vary a little but slides are redone and small parts inside and out are inspected and replaced where necessary.

Got mine for $400.  Night sites, three mags, no box or papers.  Finish good but used. A bit better than most of the police trade ins but not much.

Does Sig still produce the 228?  I thought they dropped it from the lineup for a while, but eventually brought it back.  Been looking to get one as a carry piece, but I wasn't sure if I should get a used one or if there are any new ones out there.

Thye have new ones . I think some part of the Military use them or did (M11). Check out Onpointfirearms.com They have the cheapest price on them. $ 570 brand new. I think just call them and ask if they are new or factory recondition guns or pre owned sticker on them with the blue label. Nice people to deal with.
