Took my wife out shooting yesterday and she got to shoot my Sig 938, S&W Shield (9), Glock 19 and my 1911.  She wasnt into either of my smaller 9's and liked the G19 so I played with the 938 and Shield.  Had a weird issue with the trigger after about 200 rounds (total about 500-600 rounds through the gun).  The trigger started just gliding back EXACTLY like it does when I have the safety on.  Except the safety wasnt on.  I racked the slide, dropped the mag, emptied the gun, flicked the safety on and off like 100 times.  Nothing, the trigger continued to blue ball me.  I finally gave up, put it in my pocket and just played with my 1911 for awhile.  Maybe an hour later I took the 938 out of my pocket and the trigger was fine.  I went back to my range bag, grabbed a mag again and finished off my ammo.

I am very concerned about what could have caused that trigger issue though.  This is supposed to be a carry gun and I am pretty concerned about a carry gun that just fails on me like that.  Has anyone ever had this problem?  Can you make me feel better ?

I've put a few hundred rounds through my P938, it has now become my EDC. I've never experienced the issue you mentioned, but if it happens again I would remove the grips and see if you can tell where it may be binding? Have you ever taken it apart (perhaps to replace the mainspring housing or upgrade the hammer spring?) If you did maybe the sear spring is the issue?

On a side note, Wolff's 20lb reduced power spring (Wolff part #31420) makes a nice upgrade to our P938's (helps lower the trigger pull considerably).

Let us know what you find

You can follow this video to disassemble your P938

Part 2 will help with re-assembly.
