I just traded my Sig P220 Elite Dark for a Sig P220 Elite carry. Both pistols look identical to each other except for the carry is a half inch shorter and the night sights are a bit different. They both have the srt trigger, the same length beaver tail etc. my question is the gentleman I traded with says that the Sig carry is just an elite and not a elite dark. Is there a difference between the elite carry and elite dark carry? Hope I haven't got you to confused I'm fairly new to the sig line so any help would be appreciated.

SIg Sauer p220 in all it's glory
This link above might help answer all your p220 questions. The Carry does have a shorter barrel. As far as I know they make the following p220 models in "Carry" or "Elite": (amongst others) Carry DAK Carry SAO Carry Equinox Carry Carry Elite Stainless Carry SAS Gen2 Nitron Carry Elite Dark -AND- Elite Stainless Elite Dark Threaded Barrel Match Elite Elite Dark Confused? |

Elite = beavertail
Dark = nitron or whatever black finish they use Carry = shorter 3.9" barrel So a normal Sig P220 elite would have the longer 4.4" barrel, a beavertail, and all stainless. A dark elite would be a beavertail model with the black finish. A dark elite carry would be a black beavertail with shorter barrel. At least that's the way I understand it. Got it? Me neither
ETA: oh yeah, there is also the acronyms for what trigger system is has, SAO, DAK, DAO, SA/DA, also if it has a rail or melt-job IE SAS/ P2XXR, along with the trigger...SRT, short trigger, blah blah blah. God dammit Sig just go back to making normal pistols. |
