I am having some sighting issues with my P229 E2 . Would anyone be able to rent me a Sig sight pusher? Any help is appreciated.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but are you sure that's what you need?

The reason I ask is because if it's that far off, and the sights are the factory ones that came on the gun, I might consider sending it back to SIg for them to look at.   They're usually pretty much dead-on from the factory....only time you should need a pusher is if you changed the sights out with another set.

Funny you should ask, heres the story. I bought my P229 E2 (not my only Sig by the way) about 3 weeks ago. After the first range trip (250 rds) my wife and I discovered that the gun was shooting significantly to the left, but the groups were amazing (five shots at least 3 were touching) at 15 yards. I am not the only one to have these results one other person has also confirmed it is in fact shooting left. Well upon further inspection the rear sight was pushed to the far left, getting it centered was a no brainer, I called where I bought it to ask if they had a Sig sight pusher, they said sure bring it in. When I took it in to the gun store they took the gun into the back and I heard 3 bangs of a hammer which is not what I wanted, but at least the sight was now centered no harm done.

I proceed back to the range (250 rds at 10 yards) and find that the gun is still shooting about 3.5" or so left. At this point I am annoyed to say the least so I decide it is time to call Sig, this was supposed to be my new carry gun once it proved itself. When I got Sig customer service on the line I explained this was not my first Sig and everything I just wrote above. Sig said to drift the sight with a hammer and a punch moving the front and rear sight. I pretty much got run over by this dude and that does not usually happen to me. I am wanting to adjust the sights to see how ridiculous they look in the slide once the gun is zeroed. So there is my story this is the gun not my shooting, thanks for the response.

A little update, called Sig again and re-explained the whole deal, also I noticed uneven wear on the lower part of the barrel where it locks up. So Sig is sending me a pre-paid label and it will be on its way back tomorrow.

I have the same exact issue with my sig229 e2. Let me know how this turns out. Thanks.

Will do, it is on its way right now and will arrive tomorrow by noon. Interesting you have the same issue, do you know when yours was made? Mine was July 2010.

You P229 guys should really read this: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&f=430601935&m=8240008082

I had to send mine back because it was shooting very low.  Sig took care of it by installing

a different rear night sight.  I've only got a couple hundred rounds through it so I'll have to

keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the link, that is a place I frequent and did see that thread. Also Sig customer service said they have had problems with the .40's, but none of the 9's. Sorry forgot to mention that mine is a 9mm.

So my p229r E2 came back today and the gunsmith note said they replaced the rear sight with a #10 and adjusted it flush to the right with the flat part in the slide, everything else was in spec. They sent a 15 yard test target and the group is amazing. Overall I am very happy and more confident in the gun now. After I got past the first guy in CS the service was great and very fast, they did pay shipping both ways. If I had to rate it I would give it an A minus because the first guy was rude and cut me off, but the second guy was great and they did pay for shipping, however they were supposed to e-mail when the gun was shipped back  so I could expect its delivery and they did not do it. Not a big deal to me I would rather them fix guns and do a good job then spend their time sending out e-mails, just say you are going to thats all. Very happy, and the gun is fantastic.

Is this a recurring issue for Sig p229 E2s?  I got one for Christmas that is shooting 3-4" left at 15 yards.  I had assumed it was user error because I was new to the gun but I couldn't shake that problem even after about 500 rounds of practice.  Is it possible that my Sig has misaligned sights or mis-machined slide as described in the link earlier in the thread?

I have a Sig p229 SAS gen 2 with a build date of March 2011.
