Two questions (background first)
I just acquired a P226 Tac Ops with a threaded barrel. Since threaded pistol barrels are illegal in California, I bought a factory non-threaded barrel, and the threaded barrel went into my "CA contraband" box at a family member's house in Arizona. I also have a P220 Carry with a standard non-threaded barrel. Just picked up a .45 Osprey suppressor, held by my family (Trust) in Arizona, so now I need a threaded barrel for weekend trips to visit him and the various NFA goodies. Two questions 1) Will this barrel fit both standard P220 models and the Carry model? http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-p220-replacement-barrel-.45acp-threaded.html For $210 it looks identical to the $235 barrel on Sig's online store. 2) The description for the above item says "may require gunsmith fitting" - do I really need to have any fitting done, or can I just drop in the new barrel and go shoot it? What's the potential problem they're hinting at? Any problems with going back and forth between threaded and non-threaded barrels? Thanks. |
| Since the barrel you are looking at is a factory barrel, it could require some fitting but probably won't. The determining factor whether this barrel would fit your carry model is whether the carry model uses the same locking insert as the P220. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with that answer. |
