So I'm down south visiting family and I found a P245 that I can get for $625 delivered to me back in AK.
I bought my first Sig 6 years ago and I still carry it. This would be my first Sig in .45. The gun looks in good condition and even better than my first 229. I want to start collecting older Sigs and figure this could be a good place to start. Any thoughts on the price? P245 in general? Not looking for a carry gun, just a signing 45 for fun. "Any thoughts on the price? P245 in general? Not looking for a carry gun, just a signing 45 for fun." It's a Bit High but P245s are "keepers" There are lighter and smaller guns but IMHO it's the best compact .45 ever made. SIG now makes the P220 compact - uses same mags ( it's a heavier gun tho ) . |

I paid $600 for mine recently. It hasn't come in yet, but I spent a good bit of time watching the Sig Forum Classifieds and gunbroker and gunsamerica. $625 is within range especially in very good to excellent condition...LNIB generally go $700 and up...
This is just what I have seen. They also seem to be getting harder to find...like the P228s. |
magazines are easy to find (look for P220 Compact) and the newer mags have a slightly longer finger rest that seems to make many who own P245s just that much happier with the grip feel...excellent pistol (like all stamped and folded slide SiGs in my opinion)...the price seems to be right on...I never see near new ones for $499...I'd buy every one I saw at that price...

the magazines for the newer P220 Compact not only fit but the finger rest (which can be replaced on your P245 mags) give you just that little bit more to make gripping the pistol more comfortable for most...X-Grip makes adapters to make the 7 and 8 round magazines from full sized P220s fit as well for spare mags in a CCW...enjoy.

I paid $600 + taxes for my police trade in P245 about a year and a half ago. It is my favorite handgun so far. I have small hands, and the grip fits me PERFECTLY. It has a 4 inch barrel, not really compact, and a great feel. I love the gun, and think it is perfectly sized. Not to mention, it is DAMN accurate, the recoil is light, especially for a .45, and its DAMN reliable.
Enjoy the P245! |
