Can someone explain why Sig would change the threading on their 9mm bbls? A few months ago, they were offering 1/2X28....now it's a metric thread and left hand?

European firearms makers seem to have standardized on the metric left hand threads.  IIRC HK, Sig, and a few other use this thread pitch.  S&W also uses it for their threaded 9mm barrel.  It didnt bother me at first, but now that I have a 92A1 and a G19, I've got to special order left hand barrels to use with my same LID on my Gemtech M.M.

Which is eactly why I don't understand the change. Sig is made in Exeter NH which last I checked was forty min from my house and not in a foreign country.

The 1/2x28 barrels were being made by rsr for sig. Sig and rsr have parted ways and the barrels are no longer availible.   If you look you can still find the barrels.

So you special order a $250 barrel instead of ordering a $75 part from Gemtech? You know the piston shafts swap right?
