If you want a newer G19 then save up and buy one...same for a 23...NEVER under any circumstances do you ever sell a Glock What do you need .40 for? (HD, carry gun, range gun, ect.?)

| The reply you're most likely to get is "Well with today's ammo being what it is, you're best bet is to get the 19 because there isn't much difference between the 9mm and .40 rounds anymore". And if you're in a free state that allows you to carry more than 10 rounds, even I say go for the Gen 3 G19. Me personally I run a Gen 3 G23, but that's because I'm currently a civilian in California, so I'm stuck with a 10 round limit. |

My Glock is my primary carry weapon. I held a Gen3 19 today feels more comfortable to me with the finger grooves than my gen 2. But then I was thinking if I am upgrading my gun why not upgrade caliber too If you like .40 then i would say go for it, if you decide you want a 9mm you can always get a conversion barrel for the 23. I would definitely recommend shooting a 23 before you buy one thou, it might just be me but i noticed a huge difference in the recoil between my 17 and my 23 when i got it... obviously .40 is a bigger round but the .40's recoil is a lot more 'snappy' then 9mm and i personally don't much care for it...But like i said, thats just me. YMMV Just decide whether you want a .40 or not and go from there |

The 19 would do you just fine then. But if you have the option, try the 23 as well. I've had mine for nearly 5 months and I'm in love with it. A lot of people say it's "snappy" because of the round, but I haven't really noticed. Then just make up your mind based on which weapon you liked better.
ETA - And like nicojh said, you can get a conversion barrel for the 23 that allows it to run 9mm rounds. So you can get essentially two guns out of it. |

I did find some thing else I liked a Kel tek sub 2000 looks fun. Gen 4s are more money and they didnt have any in stock and I already have a 45 in 1911 form. |

Is it possible to get just a different lower frame for my glock Yes. You can send your Gen2 G19 to Glock and they will replace the frame with a Gen3 frame for you. I think it costs $150 to do it, but you will have to call Glock and find out for sure. The serial numbers on the frame and slide will no longer match, and you will not get your old frame back, but if that doesn't bother you, then that is the way to go. It is the least expensive way to go as well. |
