I have not yet decided on what I want to replace the plastic fixed sights with. However, until I do, I would really like to reverse the rear sight, so the annoying white horseshoe outline is facing away from me. Is this as simple as just drifting it out and then back in? I don't want to screw up the rear. Also, my older(ish) eyes would like more light between the front post and rear notch. Can I just carefully file the opening a hair wider?
Thanks. |

I'm not sure if you can or not, but I believe it would be much easier to scrape or sand the white paint off. Nope I just looked at my old take offs, the white crap is molded in. Good news is it does appear that they go in backwards. If you open it up to much the white my show up. |
| the plastic sights are super easy to knock out/in get a brass punch and go to town, hell if you're gonna go thru the trouble you mightas well just pick up a set of steel ones, the factory plastic sights suck, sight replacment is the first thing i do to all of my glocks |

Just buy a new set. My gun is a two months old, and my sights are already messed up from just catching on my belt.

Until I replace them the first thing I do on all of my pistols is hit the dots/lines/whatever is on the rear sight with a Sharpie. It help draw my eye to the front sight much quicker.
That would be my suggestion until you get around to picking up replacement sights. If your eyesight is starting to slip I would look at a 10-8 or Warren Tactical rear as they both give you a bit more daylight around the front. |
