Couldn't pass up the mil/LEO discount Glock offers, and picked up a new 23 mere hours ago. I was looking through the papers and warnings, and it repeatedly says not to leave the weapon loaded. Is this just, I assume, a safety measure? Or will it actually harm the weapon in some way?

Any hints or tips about the 23 I should know, besides shoot it as much as possible?

I think that is just the lawyers.

Most cops leave their glocks loaded. I have a glock 17 I left loaded for 10 years and now I have 2 other glocks that have been loaded for more than 5 years.

Just don't play with the Glock while you're  loaded!

Sage advice.

Seriously, though, I agree with the statement about lawyers.  My G19 always stays ready to go.

Never leave a glock laying arround loaded. It needs to be in a hard sided holster to be safe.

That's being a bit alarmist.
