I have two Glock 34s - one for a SWR GSGK2 suppressor and the other for anything else.

The slide on the 34 for the can is cut apprx .085" further foward and is apprx .115" longer.

Doesn't affect the functioning of the pistol, but the overhang of the front sight leaves me with the feeling that all is not right - as well as the possibility of something snaging on the underneath.

Anyone ever seen this before - on either a 34 or 35?

Thanks,

Try swapping the slide onto the opposite frame to see if its the frame and not the slide.  Could be variations in manufacturing I don't know.

i have never seen that before but its obviously due to the fact they sqaured the front of the slide. so your front sight shifted towards the rear. was the slide altered for the can?

My 34 looks like the one on the left in the picture.

Nope - slide is factory spec, no mods other than the Dawson Precision sights I installed.

The prefix on the SWR 34 is CTB - the other is CTY (which I bought in 99).  I picked up the CTB used last year.

I don't know if they changed their manufacturing specifications or this is just a quality contol fluke or a run of 34s they made different.  I just like having everything the same.....

My 34 is also a CTB prefix. I had a 35 that had the cut like on the right. Looks like Glock changed the 34 cut to that of the 35.

Do some research on that gun - as in, where has it been for modifications.
To my knowledge, the factory has not produced a slide like that one.

Does your slide have a matching SN to your frame and barrel? If so,  you can get a date of production on that gun with the SN. Might help track down that year  and see if that is just a fluke or what. I can give you a month and year 99% of the time with the first 2-3 letters.

It's not a fluke. All the early 34s have the extended cut. At some point they decided the shorter 35 cut was enough.

All of the early 34s and 35s were big hole. My first G35 (CPY) purchased June 98 was a big hole. My second G35 (CTY) purchased September 98 was a small hole.
