| One of my friends bought a Glock-17 off of someone and as soon as he fired the first round all of the other bullets started firing off right behind it, and he couldn't get it to stop. I am fairly new to handguns, just now getting into the hobby. I figured I would ask someone about this problem and if there is a way to get this fixed so that it fires the way it is supposed to. Thank you. |

Did your friend bother to clean and inspect it before he fired it? Did he know the history of the gun before he bought it? I don't know about the rest of you but when I buy a handgun or AR I strip it down and give it a good cleaning and inspection...even if it's new. Oh yeah, and it's not a Kaboom. |
Where in florida are you? Here in Jacksonville, I know the best Glock armorer around. |
|
sounds like dirt in the trigger housing. one reason why you should install a back strap plug. Glocks do not require a lot fo care but, they still need to be cleaned. If someone has done a "custom" trigger job to save money that could also be a problem. DO NOT fire the gun again until it has been inspected by a gunsmith. If you're close to southwest FL, i would be glad to recommend a few. J |

I have not seen that happen yet but your bud had one of a couple expressions on his face when it happend. It was either HOLEY SHIT, HOLEY SHIT THAT WAS COOL, HOLEY SHIT IS IT SUPPOS TO DO THAT, HOLEY SHIT I NEED TO GET A CLASS 3 (full auto) SO I CAN DO THAT ALL THE TIME. Which was it? Like some people have already said, take it to a smith and get it fixed. Ask around and make sure he is reputiable. |
| If you have not taken Triburst1's $50.00 offer yet I'll give you $51.00 for it!h.gif |
How is that back strap plug going to prevent dirt getting in there? |
|
there is a guy here named dvdtracker, he has a detail strip vid for the glock, use it, tear it down, clean it, and then function check it if it does not function check right, get it to a smith, if it seems ok, start with one round in the mag, then work your way up ps, this is what i would do, but you do it at your own risk |
Because it PLUGS the HOLE. ![]() A friend told me about a Glock an LE armorer was cleaning. It was filthy in the backstrap cavity, had lots of debris in it, basically never cleaned or kept clean by the LE who wore it. When some CLP was sprayed inside a little bug ran out of the hole - no $hit! |
Welcome to the hobby. Rule #1: You never buy things "off of" someone, you buy it from someone. Oh yeah, and have a qualified gunsmith look at that gun before shooting it again. |
What I meant to say was, I don't think that channel goes all the way to the trigger group housing, I'll have to go home and check but I don't think it goes anywhere. |

I have a hair trigger around 1.5lbs on one of my .45s, custom target gun. After going through a bit of ammo, huh quite a bit, my wrist was getting tired. I pulled one off just right and my gun just kept pouring the rounds out kind of accidental bump fire. Was fun! Tj |
Check again, but I pretty sure I remember it is not a sealed cavity, it may just lead into the magazine housing or otherwise, but it's not a closed hole. Any breach would allow debris to enter the firearm potentially causing failure. This is why I plugged all the glocks I have, and why companies make the plugs. |
