I am getting my first glock. It's a 21 and was wondering if there is any kind of break in procedure?

Basically what others have said.

FWIW when I get ahold of a new glock the first thing I do is a detail strip, clean and lube it. Then I shoot the ever living shit out of it, wash, rinse, repeat

Figure after 50,000-100,000 rounds it should be broken in.

Shoot it till you run out of ammo, buy more ammo, so on and so forth. There is no break-in procedures for Glocks as far as I know.

Send it to big-bore. He's got a well proven and documented break-in procedure.

When I get a new one I always fell I need to overlube it the first range trip.     Always been a habit of mine, but I think it just makes a mess rather than actually helping anything.

My most recent Glock 22 was issued to me right before I went through a firearms instructor's course, I lubed it up, put the TLR1 light on it, and qualified with it, then took it through the course.    60 rounds qualification, another 20 or so messing around, then close to 750-1000 while at the course without cleaning at all, other than relube.    I didn't have one malfunction.    Haven't shot it as much since then but I do keep it clean now.

It comes broken in from the factory (hence the spent casing)
