Will the Gen4 barrel be interchangeable with a Gen3 Barrel.
In other words when the G23 comes out can I drop my Gen3 .357Sig barrel in it and rock and roll? |

Quoted: Word is Glock went full-retard and made the GEN4 barrel proprietary as well. ![]() So far what I'm reading indicates this also. Not sure if the locking lugs and locking block are different, or if it's just the "cutout" on the bottom for the recoil spring assembly though. |

I have a Gen 4 In my store but have not checked this out. I can let you know Monday. Would be very interested to know. And while we're at it, has anyone with a Gen4 and an appropriately sized (full size right now) AA kit put the AA on the Gen4 to see if it worked? |

I compared mine, and there are a few minor differences. Frankly, its too close to call IMHO.
Until someone tries it, not gonna be able to tell, and I'm NOT gonna do it. A remember reading that a reputable aftermarket barrel maker stated that their barrels would work in either gen 3 or gen 4 frames and slides....so take that for what its worth. |

| somebody posted on here recently that the LWD barrels would work on either the Gen 4 or 3 models..........he also posted an email.......from the barrel seller that they would.........this tells me that the barrel would use the recoil spring assembly from the Gen 4 when using the barrel and this assembly is not interchangable with the gen3...............thus making the barrels interchangable............ |

I already posted this, but many must have missed it, so I will say it again.
I have a Gen 4 G17, and my BIL has a Gen 3 G17. I compared the barrels, and other than the new grey finish on the Gen 4's barrel, they are exactly the same. The Gen 3 barrel dropped right in and functioned in my Gen 4, and vice versa. I'd post pictures to prove it, but I don't have the Gen 3 G17 handy right now since it belongs to my BIL. Maybe the next time he comes to visit I can get some pics. |
