Part of my book money for the Semester!  Boy I love "justifying" this purchase as necessary for school!  Attending the Glock Armorers course so I needed a Glock......was waiting for the Gen 4, But I kind of wanted this style anyways.  And Streichers isn't selling Glocks anymore so I believe I got the last 22 from my local store.

One question:  Not liking the recoil spring or guide at all, what is a good replacement if any, the current one is leaving metal shavings in the frame and slide which I do not like one bit even though it will probably only last through break in.

That probably isn't shavings. The springs have like a "Graphite" lube coating. That will flake off alittle when new. The spring and guide doesn't require any cleaning or lube, just a wipe with a clean rag when you clean the rest of the gun.
Trust me on this, the only part worth adding to a Glock is Trijicon night sights. Though the factory sights are fully usable.
Enjoy your new Glock!

Got hooked up with Free Triji's since it was the last one, so that is not needed anymore

Spend the rest of your cash on ammo. Right at this moment it looks like Walmart is the hot ticket for ammo.

I have no interest in replacing the factory recoil spring set-up. Enjoy that new G22!

I have not heard of any aftermarket parts for the Gen 4's, it's so new I can not even buy a butt plug for mine. I would not worry about the metal shavings it comes from the spring.

Stock is what I'm looking at, just wondering as I really didn't see a whole lot.

Walmart and Fleet Farm are the places for ammo

Don't worry so much about it.

Break that gun in before you start thinking of things to "do" to it.  And don't worry about what you percieve to be "shavings".................break the gun in first.

It will run best stock.
