| I am considering buying a Glock in 40. I have heard that the barrels can be swapped with the 357SIG barrels. Is this true? Is barrel length the only consideration when swapping? Do you need to change magazines? I hope this is not a dupe thread as the search function is not up and running yet. Thanks for any info offered. |
| you are correct, just do a barrel swap. A 357 sig is just a necked down 40 cal casing. so no magazine changes are required. In fact I use a 13 round 40 cal in my G32. Beef up your guide rod ( wolff guide rod and spring ) though and a recoil buffer will help extend the duty life of your gun. |
What recoil buffer would you recommend. I just swapped out the guide rod and spring for a Aro-Tek Ti/20# Wolf and the firing pin spring. What other heavier duty parts are recommended for the .357sig? As of now I have no plan to go 357 but would still be good to know for future reference. |
| all the parts are the same on both the G23 and G32 except the barrel. Parts with different numbers are interchangeable. This is only on the Gen 3 versions. The Gen 2 versions are different. The frame of the G23 Gen 2 will not withstand the presure of the .357sig but if you have a g32 gen 2 you can use a G23 barrel and shoot .40cal out of it. At leas that is what Glock told me. |
