Probably a dupe, but what is the difference between these models?

Also, can someone post that chart of the GSSF blue label gun prices again?

thanks

17L has a 6 inch barrel. The 34 has a 5.3x inch barrel (can't remember the exact measurement, but someone will point it out).

The 17L also has a longer slide, due to the longer barrel.

You can actually buy holsters for the 34.

Wouldn't either one fit in a holster designed for the 17???

Yes and I have several for mine.  Main difference is the slide and barrel length.  Frame is the same mag is the same.  G17L some competitions you can not use it in unless you go into another class.  I love my G34 ... fun to shoot I bought it for range so I could afford to shoot because .45ACP/GAP and .357 Sig was to expensive.

Not really unless you have a open end on the holster, belt slide etc.

Not all designs fit all barrel/slide lengths.  Often, the "nose" (bottom) of the holster is rounded over to smooth the profile and this prohibits longer slides from working or even fitting in them.

I discovered after I bought a 17L that there are precious few holsters* for them.

OK... I am using a Blackhawk Serpa belt holster for my G19 and I've tested it with G22's, which also fit with no problems.

ETA:

DOH!  Wasted post 4000 on this!!!

Got my blue box G34 for $519+tax.  Don't know where you can find the blue box suggested price chart.

And FWIW I also use the Serpa.  That holster should work for both the G34 and G17L, as they both use the G17 frame.

You're correct.  Glock lists it at 5.32".

CompTac makes very nice holsters and I believe they have a "slide" option for the Glock 17 series that would fit the 17L.

Bladetech makes a IWB for the G17L that is full length.  They make a belt one too, but it is probably easier to carry concealed with IWB.

They also have a full length 17L option.  I own two of them.

Take one Safariland 5188 belt loop/paddle holster for a G34/35,
add one heat gun to muzzle area of holster,
insert G17L,
mold flexible-when-warmed kydex to pistol with clamp, fingers, and misc tools found on living room table,
= holster to fit G17L.

I use my G23's Don Hume 720 OT holster to carry my G22 too.  Even though it's molded to the G23, the open nose allows the muzzle of the G22 to protrude without issue.  I've tried it with a G35 and it works well too so I'm planning on using it with my G24 project I'm waiting on.
Pictured with my G23.

Its both a paddle and a belt holster and is very comfortable.  For those of you who want a strap over the pistol for stronger retention, the model 720 has one.

I like it so well that I've got a G20 one on order for my G2021L.  Yes, the muzzle will stick out from the bottom but it rides more comfortably than the Yaqui slide version I now use for it because doesn't hold the weapon quite so tight to the body as the Yaqui slide does.
