Are preban hi capacity magazines available for the G26? How many rounds will fit in a doublestack G26 magazine without extending below the grip?

Thanks, now I don't have to worry about trying to find hi cap prebans!

Nope! The pistol, and its mag, was designed to hold 10 as its flush mag platform. All the factory +2s I have ever seen were either LEO marked (ban years) or post-sunset.

The Glock 26 and 27 were introduced in 1995.  No preban mags availible.

Can you get finger extensions for the G26 that don't add to the magazines capacity?

Absolutely.  I recomend the Pearce +0 extentions.

ETA: tell me this isn't sexy as hell...

If you don't mind them extending past the base of the grip, there are plenty of pre-ban Glock 17 mags around that will work.

Can G19 mags be used in the G26? I plan on getting both as soon as my permit comes in.

G19 and G17 magazines will fit. The G19 will actually give a very decent aid to the grip length.

This is what I've used with my G27 since they first came out. I'd prefer one with the magazine extension, as the only difference seems to be it's solid versus empty space on the +0 ones.

I'm in NY so a +1 would be a felony for me.

What I don't understand is if you look at a G26 and G19 mag side-by-side, the G26 should be set up for 11 rounds.
I actually modified mine to fit, but the spring rate wasn't high enough to reliably feed.
I really don't know why they never made proper no ban 11 rd. G26 mags - or at least a spring retro fit.

Indeed, and I believe one of the things that spurned their development and introduction was the idiotic ban itself...................sort of a "hey, we can only put 10 rounds in a gun now, let's make it small as possible to hold those 10 rounds", something along those lines.

Not the ONLY reason for their existence, but this was a factor, rumor has it.

I bought one in '95 and it's still a daily carry.  I should retire it but can't seem to.

The Pierce are OK, but I like these better on my 27...http://www.concealablecontrol.com/products.html
