| can you shoot +P loads in a G21? Not that I plan on doing it much at all but I just want to know if I can w/o a problem or not? |
|
I remember when I was a noob at a gun show, some guy selling Extreme Shock Super High Velocity Magic Snake Oil Snake Shot said I couln't shoot it in a G21 b/c of an unsupported chamber or some such.
Which may be true, but, I can't afford that awesomme hydorstaic oneshot stop cop killer ammo anyway
Happily, I ordered a Police Trade in today for $483 delivered w/ 3 mags. Then $30 for the transfer. Hope I don't regret not getting new. But I figure, most cops dont' really shoot that much, unleass I just happen to end up w/ Sgt. Rigg's sidearm. 185 gn plus p wold be pretty cool if you weren't running a can, which I will be. I bud who goes to a lot of shooting classes knows some rich old guy who goes to classes every week and has wore out several G21s and not shoots Steel frame 45 only now. I'll be shooting 9mm mostly anyway. |

We should really get a tack up that all Glocks can shoot +P and +P+ ammo this comes up a lot. OP yes all Glocks can shoot +P ammo shoot away and have fun. Indeed. There is ALOT of good information like that that should be tacked up in here. Yes OP, the story the guy at the gunshow told you about the ammo is crap. Thing is, his "super-duper extreme-everything" ammo is probably crap too. And as far as the story of the old guy "wearing out" several G21s, damn, I'd love to know what kinda round counts and how fast it was being done.....................wierd. |

I have seen parts wear out but a Glock pistol wear out to the point of not being able to shot ever again I call B/S on that guy. Unless he just shot thousands of rounds "daily" and the polymer frame just finally began to break down My buddy is rich (he can afford the ammo) and he puts about 500 to a 1000 rounds through his G22 every week and that thing is running strong granted I have helped him replace a few parts over the years but that is with any mechanical item parts wears out not the pistol. |

Admittedly, this is a guy that knows a guy I know, so its already sort of hearsay. Probably dont' take it too seriously. |

I however do and I shoot as often as I can. Round count is of no concern to me because Glocks are easy to fix and replace worn parts on. I think you'll be very happy with your new-to-you Glock. |

The 45acp's case is so large that with modern high energy powders it's possible to load up charges that will grenade almost every pistol chambered for it. What does that prove? That the reloader is an idiot, that's all. Just because you can do something, doesn't make it sensible for you to do it. |

That said, I spent over $600 on my G20 when I was in the academy Damn, that was price w/o shipping for the trade in. I wonder how much they guy got them for. Wholesale on them is $480, and that's w/ only 2 mags. |

The LEO pricing is set by Glock, and comes with 3 mags. If you really want to get sick take a look at http://www.gtdist.com. The LEO prices are all listed there. I didn't discover the place until after I got dry boned on my G20SF earlier this year. |

Well,
the glock is in my possession. Happily, it is as if it were brand new. I can't see any scuffs, scratches, wear or anthing. When I finger fucked the chamber my finger came out a little dirty, but the bore is brite & everything is great. The case, brush, rod, spent sheel is all there in the plastic box. Got them from Summit Gun Broker. Anyway, I loaded up my Kriss 30 round mag & hand cycled ball ammo through it seemed to function great. I'll have to get to my hollow points to test it that way and I'll have to shoot it alot. (I'm gong to SBR it w/ an Endo Stock and get a can for it.) |
