buy a g34 slide and barrel and put them on my g17 frame? where can i find just the upper half?

Yes you can,Probably not cost effective though!

Lone wolf distributors sells aftermarket slides,OEM might be tough to find.

I almost bought a G20/G21 Frankengun on the EE.
When it's all said and done, you should probably just get another Glock.

Indeed, it is possible, but not very cost effective, as that entire upper half is pretty expensive, if you can find one.
