I got 2 questions for all yinz. 1. I'm stuck deciding between a 19 & 26, gun will be carried yet also extensively shot at the range. What is better and why? 2. My grandfather has a AA .22 top end for his G22, will it run on a 19 or 17? Thanks |

G19 is a great pistol for your intended roles................one of the best fighting pistols ever made. It's easily concealable, very shootable, of course reliable, all that. You'll get a better grip on the 19 than you will with the 26. The 26 really isn't that much shorter, at barrel or grip, than the 19. Alot of folks like both.............yes, the ARFCOM answer is to buy both, but in the real world, for most of us, it's not an option. I'd say go with the G19, to me, it's a better "all-around" pistol than the subcompact G26. |

While I whole-heartedly concur with the assessment above of the G19, my plan is to get the G26 as my all-purpose gun.
1. Concealability trumps convenience/grip comfort/capacity for me. I simply don't want to risk printing, and the longer grip of the 19 is a higher risk. I'm not saying you can't conceal a 19, I'm just saying that a 26 is easier to conceal. 2. I can still stick a 19 (or even a 17) mag into a 26 (and even get the grip collars to fill in the gap) for range time. Just my $0.02, YMMV. "Yinz"? I just learned that word this week...I take it you're in the 'Burgh? |

I carry a G32 and love it (same size as a G19). I also for carry when I run I carry a G27 (same size as G26 w/ 357 Sig barrel) my G27 is my deep concealment but depends on what you can conceal and feel comfortable with. Both are good pistols and both have a purpose. With a mag extension the G26 is also nice. You should see if a buddy of yours has one you can test out.
My recommendation would be the G19 size frame for all around shooting concealment and practicality that size frame does it all. |
| I've had the opportunity to fondle a few G19's and damn they feel good in the hand. I prefer having a full grip (for under stress reasons). A good friend of mine just picked his ups a few weeks ago and he let me shoot it this past weekend and its an awesome shooter. |
