Hi Guys,
I have put around 500 rounds on my glock 26. After cleaning it yesterday, I put it together and noticed that when I moved it left to right, there was a wobbling noise .I checked everything. Everything seemed to fit snuggled. When I moved back and forth, there was no noise. I took it apart again and had the gun into two parts; the frame and the slide (with the barrel and rod assembled). Shook them both and heard no noise whatsoever. Put it back together and there it was again; "the noise". I racked the slide and shook it again. No noise was heard. Everything seems to be working properly, the trigger resets and everything, but the noise got me worried. I was wondering if anybody has experienced something like that or knows what it is. Thanks in advance! |

It's normal. Probably the Firing Pin moving back and forth in the slide, when not cocked. Sometimes there will be a faintly audible rattle from the Trigger Safety too. Or the slide itself rattling against the frame rails.
Just part of the nature of Glock, perfectly normal, nothing to worry about. |

When the firing pin isn't under any tension it will rattle a little bit. Engineers call it "chatter," I've been told. Wanna really freak out? Hold the trigger to the rear and shake it. It'll be even louder. That's actually one of the function tests for a Glock. Some also do have looser fitting slides. |

Nuts –– I forgot to check today, I rented a G26 at the range today to check it out. (FWIW, I decided to get one...just need to move first, get my personal life in order and settled.)
My guess is that after you field-stripped it for cleaning, you didn't fully rack the slide when putting it back together, so the firing pin wasn't put back under tension... |
