Hi, i am looking for a glock and im going for a G19 or 17 havent decided yet and i want to trade my 1911 for a used one. Im not sure if my local gun shop will accept the deal or not but they usually have used glocks at about $400.
I have a 1911 with very few rounds through it, it has night sights, ported slide, houge wrap around grips and 3 mags (2 factory and 1 colt) its a griffon and has never jammed or anything on me, very accurate. What do you guys think? What are my chances that they will accept it? I dont like the 1911's, they feel weird to me. |

Griffon is from South Africa, if I remember correctly. Not always very "sought after". Sorta in line with Charles Daly, Norinco, Sistema, and RIA to some extent.
That said, 1911s generally go for more than Glocks, new or used. Just depends, on the overall status of the 1911 in question. I would say, though..................why are you asking us? Why not just go in there and tell 'em the deal............say "hey, here's the deal, here's this Griffon, I want to trade it straight across for one o' these here used Glocks you've got under the counter. It's in good shape, etc. etc., have a look at it, and tell me what ya think?"? A shop can decide whatever they want............................it's not always about value, but what the owner does or does not want to do, what he thinks he can sell back, etc. etc. Ask them. I would say they MIGHT go for it, or might want you to throw 50-100 bucks into the deal, as Griffons are generally regarded as an "off-brand", though they may run well. |
