I have a 21SF on which the ambidextrous magazine release sticks when depressed to release a magazine.  It sticks when activated from either side.  It has a pronounced click and stays fully depressed.  It does not reset, unless pushed back from the opposite side.  Any ideas?  Spraying CLP on it made it stick worse.

Does it work/stick without the mag in the pistol?  Are the mags you are using the ones that came with the 21SF or are they older 21 mags without the cut out?  Have you tried a different mag?  Have you disassembled the pistol to check the mag release if so did it get put back together right?

I just took it apart and the button was cracked through the thin(lower) bar on one side.

Mine did this the other day and I had to push it back to get the mag to lock.

Shit. This is my duty gun. I need to get this looked at right quick.

I would sure hate to get into a gunfight and my mag refuses to stay put. It would be nice if I could pack my AR "quiver" style on my back.

Called Glock.  They are sending a complete magazine catch/release assembly.  The tech on the phone said there is a few "generations" of the ambi-catch assembly and the parts do not interchange between generations.

Dug a little deeper and found the problem... Good to know incase mine ever does this what it could be.  Sorry you were the guinea pig but I guess when you make millions of pistols have to have one go bad every now and then.

Old mag catch parts on the left.  New mag catch parts on the right.  Close up of the broken button from the old set.

The new pieces are all different.  Even the button which is identical in general shape has different mold marks.

New parts installed and problem is solved.  Very fast customer service from Glock.
