Well this is my first Glock, Glock 23( used), and Im getting to know her. I have run close to 200 various rounds through her so far I cant complain at all.

However with any personal firearm owned by an enthusiast I must make it better. Im thinking I must do the basics: lighter trigger, Tritium sights, Extended Slide/Mag release.

Other than that, Im not really sure what to do the gun.  I cant really find any weak spotts on the gun.

If anyone can point out to me what needs to be done on these guns to make it a rock solid gun.

Thanks.

PS recommend for me a crisper trigger. thanks
BTW this gun is a home defense/CCW/duty weapon

you hit the nail on the head, nothing else is needed.

It just some down to what you want from the gun and how it feels to you.

Better, metal sights first.

Then the .25cent trigger job.  Next, maybe, a 3.5# connector.  That's it.  A Glock needs nothing else.  Seriously, nothing.

I change very little on mine. You mentioned duty weapon use above. How much are you allowed to change or modify your duty weapon?

I carry a 19 and put a night sight on the front, a smooth trigger and a 3.5 connector in it. That's it.

Some people will put extended mag releases and extended slide stops on theirs as well.

I put on a G17 trigger and a Vickers extended mag release. Couldn't be happier.

Whats the difference between the 17 trigger and 23 trigger? 17 a bit bigger?

And I will def be going with ext releases since I dont have Large hands

Flat faced trigger
3.5 connector
.25 trigger job
Vicker's extended mag release
Upgraded sights

That should do her.

On my new G23 I have done the following:

1. .25 cent trigger job

2. addition of the NY1 trigger spring and kept original 5.5 lb connector (may go to a 3.5 OEM connector though)

3. Ameriglo Operator Sights as shown in picture

Look at the Dawson line of sights for your glock. I have them on my G19 with optic front and optic rear adjustable sites. Not a cheap site but on my what a super looking and functional sight..

Go withthe 3.5 trigger. My G19 is my best shooter for sure.

The ONLY "must do" mods I would recommend would be different sights....................steel, Tritium, Fiber-Optic, whatever floats your boat.......the factory sights are the only thing that's not that great about them out of the box.

Other than that, mags and more mags, ammo, and a good holster or two.  Nothing else needs to change, really.

If you absolutely have to have a lighter trigger pull, then a factory 3.5 Connector.

It's a duty weapon?  Have your department armorer put on better sights, if authorized.

What's your agency policy on modifying weapons?

Our policy would require you to not do anything else to it.

I've found it better than adding a 3.5lb connector. YMMV
