Not an expert, but from lurking in Glock boards, people really seem to have a preference for  Gen 2 Glocks. I see this mentioned quite a bit on Glock Talk and other similar places.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't believe there were ever any Gen 1 G19s, just G17s. I'd love to find a Gen 2 G19 somewhere.

I believe people look for the Gen 2 because some do not like the finger grooves on the Gen 3 Frame.  I personally like the finger grooves but and prefer the Gen 3 over the previous ones.

Me too. I really like my 3rd gen G23. I've got some homemade decal grips (skateboard tape) on mine and I love it.

Since this seems to come up every few weeks, can this thread be tacked by a mod???

Have any of seen what i beleive is a factory 2nd gen 19 with the Glock installed laser mounted to the triggergaurd, wired thru the frame and pressure pad on front strap, and batteries in the plug cavity on the frame. I picked one up years ago and understand there were very few of these produced.
