I know that Glock has not made a Hi Cap mag for the Glock 37 but has anyone modified a 37 mag with a different spring to fit more.
I was thinking about taking apart some of my 22 or 17 mags and seeing if changing the spring would increase the magazine capacity and feed reliable. Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has tried it? Did it work or fail?? |
| G37 uses the same spring as the G22, the 11 coil spring. I suppose you could try an old 10 coil spring. I do not think this will get you even close to fitting another round in the magazine. One GAP cartridge is about .500" wide, while one coil of mag spring is about .050" wide. Maybe you can fit one or two extra rounds if you just leave out the spring and follower, but this would have a few draw backs. If Glock could have fit 11 or 12 rounds into a G37 magazine you know they would have. |

My response has nothing to do with hate for .45GAP. I was not trying to imply you hated it I know when the .45 GAP topic gets brought up lots of people tend to just vent how they think the cartridge is useless and not give any positive feedback or even consider giving it a second of time to actually have a discussion. |

As said above, if Glock could've designed the mags to hold more rounds, they definitely would have. High capacity has always been a selling point with Glocks.
I don't see how it would work.............but if anyone wants to butcher their mags in this quest, I'd at least be somewhat curious to see the outcome............from an academic standpoint. |

I have I just do not like it longer then it already is I wish Glock would make a HiCap mag for the G37 but I am ok with the 10+1 I have had it for a few years just I wish they could make a 13 round mag like the 21. These were made to fit the existing envelope of the 17/19/26 frames. Given the way that Glock makes magazines, I do not see how any more than 10 GAP rounds get in there. |
