I have only put a couple hundred rounds through my G30 due to time and money constraints.  Today I fired 50 rounds of Winchester Ranger 230gr +p through it.  I had no issues using a G21 magazine, but each of my G30 ten-rounders jammed on the 9th shot.  Each time, the 9th round would jam nearly straight up into the chamber roof and jam the slide open with the round pointing up.  This did not happen with ball.  I'm guessing this has something to do with the shape of the HP, but why on only the 9th round in both 10 round magazines?

*My 1911 was able to feed this ammo perfectly, so I'm at a loss.

I have two Glock 30s and really like the guns.

I've had no issues out of mine so not much help to you there.

I have however learned to do as you have done and test the ammo I carry in the weapon I use it in.

This has on several occasions shown me issues I didn't know existed.

Unless this is a duty ammunition you are required to carry I'd switch to another 230gr standard pressure hollow point (ie Speer Gold Dot, Golden Sabers, Fed Tactical, etc...)

From my research any of these delivered to the corect area will do the job.

Find one that's 100% reliable and hit to your point of aim. Hope that helps.

Indeed.  That's why we always recommend test-shooting a good amount of any defensive load you plan on possibly carrying with.

Not all autoloaders like all brands/types of ammo...............just the way it is sometimes.  Try a different load before assuming the gun is having problems altogether.  That's what I'd do.
