I was cleaning my duty issue G22 and noticed that the boltface appeared to be cracked. I have fired approx 6,0000 rds through the gun. I have had problems in the past. About 6 mo ago while attending a tac class I had the slide release pin break, Upon further inspection by the department armorer, it was found that the trigger pin was cracked as well. This resulted in a department inspection. The result was one other G22 with the same broken pins. Both mine and the other G22 were from officers who shoot very often. We contacted Glock and the rep said that they were working opn a solution for the breaking pins, evidently this is becoming a common occurance. We were told that the pressure of the round was causing wear to the locking block. He suggested using subsonic rounds because this is what the gun was designed for.
Anyway, I noticed the small crack and began looking at my other Glocks to compare. I noticed that none of my low mileage guns (less than 1k) showed anything that looked like a crack. One of my glock 19's which has fired approx 5k rds had the same crack. I cannot post pics of the G22 as it is in the armory. But I will take pics of the G19 if anyone is interested. I will need to send them to someone to post. Wondering if anyone has had any problems with thier slides, if so what was the round count? I only fire factory ammo in my glocks. I will be contacting Glock about the 19 soon and have it checked. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I am not bashing Glocks, as I own several and they are my GTG's, both on and off duty. **** EDIT**** Looks like Brian is right. I did a weapons inspection on my shift, and all the G22's in question had the same mark. Looks like it is a machining mark, and not a crack. Sorry for the confusion, just trying to keep us safe. I do find it strange that some have it and some don't. Thanks to all who contributed. Richard |

I had a trigger pin on my g22 break also. I have quite a few more rounds on mine then you do and a new lower since the frame rails broke off (recall model I never got recalled until the last possible shot. stupid me).
the pin did not break in half; however, it looked like a v and the bend was directly in the center of the pin. I replaced the pin with a spare and it seems to be doing fine for now. I do not shoot hot reloads in the gun, but I wonder if using some of our duty rounds might have done it. they seem pretty hot compared to our training rounds. pics please. |

| Just a thought....If what you're refering to is a vertical line on the breechface, it may not be a crack. I've had several Glocks which had marks in that area from machining. It is quite possible that your Breechface does has a crack, I've seen that before, but it's odd that both your G22 and G19 would have a crack in this area as it isn't a widespread or common problem. |

This was my first thought as well. They are probably just surface gouges and not cracks. |
