I was gonna detail strip my G19 for the first time and ran into a bit of a snag, so i decided to stop until I get further info.
I watched as many videos online that I could find, but haven't seen anyhone specifically mention this detail during reassembly. I took out the Locking Block Pin ( Left to Right). After I decided to stop and just reassemble for further research, I couldn't get the pin back in 'cause the end of the spring from the Slide Release Lever kept getting in the way. I wasn't sure if it sits on TOP or BELOW the Locking Block pin. I took a flashlight to the area and noticed there wasn't very much space for the spring to go on TOP between the locking block and the pin, so I took a small tipped punch and pushed the spring down while sliding the Locking Block pin past it and thru the other side of the frame. it seems to work fine, but I want to verify that it's in the correct place. From what I've been able to find out, I need to move the slide release lever front to back in order to release teh trigger pin. That was the sang I came across. |

Ditto. You did it right, that spring goes UNDER the Locking Block Pin, right where you put it. Yes, removing the Trigger Pin will involve wiggling the Slide Release around while pushing on the Trigger Pin. As you do this, (not pushing with alot of force on the Trigger Pin, mind you) you'll feel it "give", and begin to slide out. |
