The "Early Glock" thread made me want to look this up...

I have an old G17 that I've had for a year or so.  It has the Austrian logos on it.  The serial has 2 letter, then 3 numbers.... where can I find a chart or reference table to look it up . Think the first three digits are CE9 but I'd have to look again to be sure.......

Do a google on 'Glock Serial Numbers' will pop up some sites with info and links to serial prefix charts. Thats basicaly what I did when I got my veteran 'police trade in' G17.

Found out all sorts of info on mine, such as mine has a standard barrel, not a 'pencil barrel'. That the AWXXX serial was Sep. 86 approx production date. That the first gen guns are refered to as 'slick grip guns', referring to the reletively smooth grip these older ones enjoy. Discovered that my early gun lacks a reinforcing frame pin that Glock introduced sometime or other. Lots of info, true or not, online about Glocks.

Post the letter prefix here, and I'll look it up in my PTOOMA reference guide when I get home.......................it'll list the month and year it was manufactured.

Or, www.Glocktalk.com has a "Glock serial number project" where you can look it up.

Thanks for the Glock Serial Research thing...  My serial starts with CE then 3 numbers signifying the number.  CE is as follows:

CE - G-17 - May 1987 - 1st Gen. - Austrian markings

Hell, I was 10 years old when this thing was made.....
