Ok, got 2 new mags for my G21SF about a week ago and tried them out today before work.  One of the FTF's like crazy!  Ejected the mag, looked down and there's a round vertical in the body of the mag blocking everything, so I cleared that and tried again with the same thing happening.  I went through this three times (three full mags that is), finally took the thing out and tried loading and unloading by hand with the same result.  WTF??  Any ideas on the problem?  I'll try to take some pics if I can.

Are they Glock factory mags?  Bad spring or follower would be my first guesses.

Is your 21 SF single sided mag relaease or ambi? I'm asking because I'm wondering if you have a SS mag release 21SF and just got older mags? If your mags have a rectangular cutout in the front of the mag body they are for the ambi release and SS and you have the newest generation mags. If I remember correctly all of these should have #3 followers and they are still current. What type of ammo are you using? Have you tried different ammo? Has the pistol been altered in any way? Does this happens with more than one mag?

It is an ambi gun, and they are the ambi mags. They are brand new Glock factory mags, purchased from my local LE gear dealer. The rounds in question are 230gr Hornady TAP, and function perfectly in my other four mags, it's only this one. It's extremely odd, and something I've never experienced in any other gun I've ever had. It's as though the spring doesn't have enough tension or is binding or something. It appears from the outside that the follower is just not pushing the rounds up, the vertical round appears to be just from recoil bouncing it around. It happens after about 3-4 rounds, and then it works for one, and then does it again. I haven't had to time to disassemble the mag yet, but I'm wondering if it's possible there's something in the body of the mag that might be stopping the follower?

ETA:  Just took the thing apart quick before work and discovered that the plastic that was punched out for the number 4 witness hole in the back was not removed from the inside of the mag.  So, there was a chunk of plastic sticking into the channel of the mag body fouling the follower.  Now I'm paranoid about the other one I bought since its number 4 hole looks like it was punched out the same way.  Time to strip that one down too I guess!

Good catch! I would bet that will fix your problems. Other than the mag issue, how do you like the 21, and what kind of accuracy are you getting?

Fixed it right up!  Luckily I took a look at the other new one I bought too because it had the same chunk of plastic in there.

I love it!  I get fairly good accuracy (under 3" all day at 25 yards), but what I really love about it is that this thing is built like a tank.  I'm just glad they finally made a Glock that doesn't scar up my hand when I shoot it.  ETA:  This was the only reliability issue I've had with the gun thus far.  She's taken everything I've thrown at her, even intentionally limp wristing, and kept on going.
