So I just got a first gen 20 today, and had some questions about swapping barrels and slides. Can I put a different model slide/barrel assy on it? Say I wanted to shoot 9mm, .357 sig, .40, or .45, can it be done? Granted a different barrel would be all I need for shooting the .40 or .357 sig correct? This is my first Glock, and I'm confused.

You can put a G21 slide onto it to shoot 45 ACP.  That's your only other choice.

Yep, that's your only option...

Negative, to shoot 45 you would need a new slide and barrel, to shoot other calibers all you would need is a barrel.

With a G20 and the proper "Conversion Barrel" you can shoot 10mm, .40, .357Sig, 9x25 and I am sure you could find a 9mm barrel somewhere.

For refrence I have a G23(40S&W). I also have a Storm Lake .357Sig barrel and a 9mm conversion barrel for it. I have never had any problem with any of them, even shooting the 9mm that does not fit the breach face 100%. However even though the 9mm has never given me a problem I will not carry it in that configuration. 99.9% of the time the .357Sig barrel and a mag full of 124gr Gold Dots from Double Tap are in it.

Here is a good place to buy a conversion barrel: http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=241
