What does everyone thing about the Glock 19C's vs other 9mm glocks?.  Rumor has it that the porting on the barrel and openings in the front don't throw powder crap back at the shooter.  I read that this was tested and proved that it did not beased on the design.  As for flash at night it depends on ammo.  At any rate do any of you have one and what are your thought?

That ports aren't necessary as the G19 recoils like a BB gun anyway.

imo: C glocks are nice for competitions...but for serious work, non-C models are still better overall––YMMV; also, for G19, the C is not needed, nor that beneficial for recoil handling

I own a 19C, and I own  3 standard 19's

Most of the downsides you hear/read about ports are BS.  Wont ruin your night vision, wont throw off huge fireballs, etc.  They are a little louder, and you gotta clean a little more.

However with the 9mm round, the recoil reduction isn't very much.  Not worth getting IMHO.

If you do get a C model, when you are shooting from retention or collapsed positions, don't forget to turn the ports away from your self.

I was going to say the same thing except I own one 19C model and two standard 19s.

Thanks, I got this glock 19c at a good deal and wanted to know what folks thought.  I plan to use it like my other 19's.  I figure it is a glock and still better than the other makers!
