Currently I have a MTAC for my 19.  Is it worth the money to swap over to a Raven Concealment holster?  I'd prefer to spend the extra $$ on ammo, but this holster has gotten so many VERY positive reviews that I'd be dumb not to at least half consider it.

Thoughts?

Does your MTAC work well for you?

Well if so, don't mess up a good thing.  Spend the money on more mags and ammo.

Yeah, it works well....but imo its kind of a big rig.  I usually carry around 3-330 and I can't seem to get my hand into my pocket since the holster clips are taking up pretty much half of my pocket-space.

Raven is nice, but what don't you like about the MTAC?  I'd imagine there's more flexibility (read: comfort) with the MTAC since it's part leather instead of all kydex like my beloved Phantom.

What do you hope to gain by making the switch?

I don't know....maybe a different holster that is lighter/more concealable?  Just wanted opinions really.  I think i'll spend that money on ammo/mags

I went the kydex / kydex & leather route and wasn't happy with any of the results so I tried a MacDaniel II from Andrews Custom Leather and I couldn't be happier. A single belt loop in back holds it tight and secure yet lets it float behind my hip for a much more comfortable feel. It's thin leather and molds to your body rather than forcing your body to mold to it.

I got the same holster in trade a few months ago for my G19/23 sized Glocks.  It's by far the best IWB holster I've ever owned.  I'm ordering one for my G17/22 sized Glocks and my 1911's, too.

If you go with the MacDaniel II, make sure you get the optional sweat guard.  It adds a lot to the comfort.

I used a MacDaniel II for a while and it was OK, however it doesn'tt hold a candle to a Milt Sparks VM II
