Yes.

Try it with a different mag.  If it works, ya got a weak spring in the other one.

If not, lever may be installed incorrectly, or have a weak spring.

It is easy to put the tail of the spring (slide lever spring) in the wrong place.  It won't work either.  May want to check that if the mag switch doesn't work.

Often times with Glocks, people have issues resting their thumb on the lever, check your grip first.

If the mags check out, take the slide off and check that there is spring tension on the slide stop. I have seen the spring break after very little use. If that is good to go, shoot a mag left handed.  Your thumbs will be on the opposite side of the slide, and can't rest on the slide release. If the slide locks open, it's your grip. If not, it's gremlins.

Also check that your mag follower is not chipped. I dropped one at the range once and it broke off the part of the follower that holds the slide back. I called Glock and explained what had happened, they sent me a new follower free.

Another possible issue could be that the spring on the Slide Stop Lever could be or not positioned correctly or slightly weak .  In the picture above, make sure,

1) Be sure that the spring 'tail' is under the Locking Block Pin (the pin above the trigger pin) so that the spring is engaged.  This is accomplished by being sure to install the Locking Block Pin in before you install the Trigger Pin.

2) That the wire spring is exerting enough pressure on the lever by grabbing the end of the spring and pulling slightly to the left.  This will increase the spring pressure again.

For a complete explanation, including pictures, of disassembly and re-assembly, check out Glockparts.com's 'Disassembly' link on the left of their web page.

If you have a 2 rd extender it usually will not.
