I live in California. I am looking to replace a bunch of my old high capacity glock mags. I checked wth the Department of Justice and its perectly legal for me to buy replacement mag parts to replace my old or faulty mags I currently own. I need to recieve the mags as parts to be legal. So they will need to be dissasembled. The problem is I cant find any shops locally that sells them for less then 35-40 bucks delivered per mag/mag parts. Thats crazy. I feel like the local shops are jacking me and everyone else. Can any of you help me out. I need Glock 23 and Glock 19 mags. There i no law preventing me from have mag parts as spares or replacing my current mag parts. If you can help me out please let me know.
Brian Edited to add: I can supply the number and name of the person at the DOJ that gave me this information to who ever wants to help me. |

I have a few mags grandfathered in from pre ban... non drop free unmarked with any caliber Glock mags. You CANNOT transfer these nor "give" them to anyone, not even family. You may still get parts for them but the housing, which is (get the tin foil on) secretly marked by Glock (hence that's why you want no floor plate) is not legal to transfer either. That being said, I can use my 17+2 at the range, and a friend carries his non drop free's.
ALSO AR FANS IN CALIFORNIA! BULLET BUTTON IS NOW ILLEGAL IN SOLANO COUNTY!!!!!!!! |

Yes, My mags get used allot and have been around for many many years. The newest mag I have is like over 10 years old dam near. But works, but looks like crap. There is nothing wrong with me buying parts to replace mag parts on my current mags I own.

I have good feedback on pretty much every forum in the country that has to do with Ar's. I was just looking for help and I dont expect that from my fellow AR owners. I am not trying to do something illegal here. Heres a couple posts on the issue. I have about tirty of them. They all come down to he same fact. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=11&t=337626 http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=11&t=331671 Quoted:

I will give it a try, But most vendors are confused about the screwed up California laws and would rather not deal with certain items since the laws are so confusing.
This is one vendor on the board who obviously understands the laws here but just doesnt have the particular items I am looking for. He has helped me with rebuilding some of my M1A mags. I wish there were more vendors like him around. http://www.44mag.com/ small example. Friend gave me a gift card to the sportsmans guide. I thought I would pick up a spare M4 stock. They wouldnt sell it to me,said it was illegal for them to ship it here, but they did ship the ammo, crazy huh. Quoted:
so why don't you order the parts from brownells? they're reasonable and they know the laws. member since 2005 = 15 years? I'm confused |

So what you are saying is you need someone in a free state to order the mags dissemble them and send them to you in their disassembled state. if that is the case I would be willing to help This is a BAD idea. Gun laws are complex and you could make a big mistake. It is just not worth it I'm am sure th OP is a nice guy and we all want to help but jail is not a fun place. |

Correct, all parts can be replaced. You just can't build new mags.
