If I currently have Glock 17/19/26/34 pistols, do I need a Glock 17L?
What role would the 17L serve that couldn't be done just as well by one of the other Glock pistols?  I guess just wanting one is good enough reason but I'm trying to justify buying one.

I've had one, they're kind of cool. But I got rid of mine, it's too big for IDPA, to carry, etc.

But if you need an excuse, it was a flat shooting something. Even with cheap fiocchi ammo, it was really accurate and was awesome on dingers at long pistol distances 35 yards plus.

Plus, a man just can't have too many Glocks, (or EBRs, or 1911s, etc.)

Hope this helps

The only thing I can see the 17L being better for is a some slight advantage over long distance shooting. Aside from that, bupkiss.

Yeah, really not much advantage over the 34 you've already got.  Methinks it's time for a G23 for you!

You need the G17L to complete your 9mm collection.  You're 80% of the way there.  Don't stop now!

the 17L is longer than the 34 and is the primary weapon of South American counter terror units. They have great long range accuracy and the longest sight radius of them all.  Great handguns, almost like an SBR
