Anyone else hear about the 4th gen Glock being showed at the International Association Chiefs of Police (IACP) convention going on this week in San Diego, CA.
Glock is listed as an exhibitor at the convention (booth 4221).

Hey all you Glock fans and maybe even some of you that aren't Glock fans... Glock is coming out with a 4th Generation frame! New for this frame is the noticeably different grip which will have a nice bite to it (skateboard tape fans will no longer want or need skateboard tape) and really nice serrations on the rear of the slide. Something about the frame feels more like the first generation and I felt it was easier to grip up high on the backstrap. They will be starting out with both the Glock 22 and Glock 17 and will eventually have all the Glocks out in this design.

the ghey and FAIL...finger grooves are still there and the racking slide serrations are smaller and ghey-er

oh well, OST, cool stuff

Is that even real?

If so, I'd say, "what the hell's the point?  That's no kind of improvement, as if any were eve needed!  They're perfect as they are!"

Waste of time and effort by glock.

Yeah, a Glock is like an old VW Beetle. It is what it is and to expand on it defeats it's purpose. TMO

Those serrations are actually sound wave indicators to remind you to wear your ear protection!

Blah

I hope that's a joke or a concept model. Either that or there are more improvements (doubtful) that we can't see.

That said I'll probably still end buying one just for the hell of it.

I wish they would have spent their money on making something single stack.....like say a full size .45.  There.....I said it.

And they still haven't figured out that inside the human fist isn't square.

Round the fucking corners and add some palm swells for the love of God.

It looks nice, but I don't see the point. It looks all most the same as the current generation Glocks. Does anyone know when the new ones may be available?

If it is a "legit" design change perhaps this new series also has the ambidextrous magazine release and uses the ambidextrous magazines that are out for both the 17s and 22s.

Due to the side being shown in the "ad" above, it is difficult to tell if the pistol has the new magazine release design.

This. I think I'll stick with my current Glocks.

WTF???

No, switchable back strap, finger grooves still there?

IMHO, they kept all the bad egronomics and fucked up the slide serrations.

That's what I was thinking. I wish they'd lose the finger grooves. Also, why not switch the rail to a picatinny like the G21SF?

Bleh..no pic rail please.  Too bulky.  I'd like to feel the gip though.  Looks interesting.

That thing is FUUUUGLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll stick with my 2nd gen G17, thank you.

You know, there is a reason that 2nd gen are starting to command higher prices?

WHAT THE FUCK are those slide serrations?

That looks like the most slip-happy, useless design ever

Slide serrations look great.......NOT. Finger groves still aren't a great idea. Is the frame going to be more like the 21sf and 30sf? Ambi mag release and such? Rail looks the same as always not 1913 rails. Ehh, doesn't look worth it to me.

I guess im the only one that likes it. I looks a bit more custom to me.

Get rid of the infernal speed bumps! Those finger grooves were designed for a 98 pound female. Ugh!

At least it still uses the old mags. Right?

Any redesign that doesn't use pre-existing mags is insta-fail in the present environment.

I like the finger grooves of my 3rd gen, but I have smaller hands. The rough texture looks ugly and the slide serrations, well lets say this, take a look at the GTL in the pic, those serrations were designed to match the original ones... Stupid if Glock really made that ad and placed the GTL in there. It's like they are trying to give a custom and rounded look to a boxy gun.

But then again the Kimber SIS has fans...

Looks like the inside of a dead goats ass! Must have been approved by the Obama camp. First the 45 CRAP, I mean GAP, and now this POS. Dr Glock must be loosing his mind. And the thought of an ambi-mag release makes me want to puke. I'm not left handed so I don't give a rats ass! Anyone want to sell their 3rd Gens for that POS, IM me.

Because the XD and other quality, but cheap guns are out there taking away potential Glock  customers. Its like politics. They know the diehards will eventually try it out and buy it just because its a Glock, but they must woo the center from competitors with change and something new, even if its not really needed.

I actually think the fishgill design might be an improvement, especially with gloved hands, and I'm hopeful about the grip texture; but I'll wait until I feel one in my hands before I pass judgment one way or the other.

There are also different texture patterns available for the grip and back strap.  The finger grooves aren't as deep either.  I don't like the new cocking serrations.

I wouldn't get too spun up over the slide serrations because an Austrian member over at GT posted these new pictures and it shows the standard slide serrations:

And this one shows a couple different grip textures:

I'm guessing there are a couple variations floating around.
