| i have little experience with glocks but i have been kicking the idea around of buying a G23, but i have heard that the G23 is one of the only glocks that is most likely to malfunction, is this true?? if so then what is a good compact glock that is not a 9mm, and i need it to have the accessorie rails also |
| My G23 has never malfunctioned in over 5,000 rds. Get the G23 and put TruGlo TFOs on it and you'll have the best combination of reliability, size, weight, capacity, concealability, and lethality available in a pistol; period. Plus, if you decide you want to practice with 9mm for cost considerations, a conversion barrel is available from LW very reasonably. |
Nearly the same as what he said - just a different sight suggestion. FWIW - 9mm can have equally effective terminal balistics as .40 S&W. -JC |
| I have a 1994 G23 that was a Government/LE trade in and looked terrible. I sent mine to Custom Glock Racing and had it hard chromed/bead blasted and it has been my EDC weapon ever since. Mine has Mepro night sights and OEM extended slide release and has run flawlessly with any JHP or FMJ rounds I have sent down the tube. When not at the "cop shop" where I carry a G22 I trust my life and my families lives to a G23. My name is Trapfan and I endorse this statement. |
I've owned two G23s, Gen2 and Gen3. Both were always 100%. I think the P229 and USPc shoot/handle the .40sw (recoil) better (I've owned both), but the Glock 23 offers the complete CCW package: comparatively inexpensive, simple, durable, reliable, ubiquitous. I also had a LWD 40-9 barrel that was 100%. Great utility and versatility. Great gun if .40sw is your flavor. |
