Hello I just ordered a Glock 19 and I have a few questions about this gun.
-Is it okay to shoot +p and +p+ rounds out of this gun?
-What is everyones favorite protection round?
-Where is the cheapest place to buy mags?

Thanks

No problem with +p ammo. I prefer good old Federal 147g Hydrashocks. Mags have gone up recently, but if you watch this site, there are still a few vendors that have mags for around $20. Enjoy your new Glock. I'm starting to like my 19 more than my 17 that I've had for almost 15 years.

+p and +p+ should run through without a hitch.

My favorite round is the Winchester ranger 127 gr +p+.

I have'nt ordered mags in a long time, I think I got my fair share already.

Everything he said.  The Winchester Ranger SXT 127gr +P+ JHP is a great round.

ah, G19 the best of all of em. Winchester 127gr +p+ and there are so many places to
get mags. I can buy them local (15 rds) for 20 bucks.

124gr+P Gold Dots in my 17 and 19. Any of the newest loads(Gold Dots, Ranger, or HST) should all perform great, just run some of whichever you get through your gun to make sure there are no feeding issues. I would stay away from older designs like Hydrashocks, but that's me.

I'm gonna be different and recommend Federal HST. My G19 likes them.

+1, you'll have no problems whatsoever with any +p, +p+, anything like that.  Glocks 9mm pistols are strong as hell.  That G19 is a duty gun for thousands of cops in the US.

For my G17 and 19, as far as defensive ammo, any good, quality HP that'll run in the gun and hit POA for ya is fine.  So far, I haven't found any that won't do both in mine.

I like Fed 124 grn Hydras, Hornady 124 grn XTP, Speer 124 grn GD, etc. etc.  Yeah, I'm sure HST is better than the now "old-school" Hydrashok (damn, makes me feel old!), but it's still better than some crappy FMJ, I'd think.

I love the 147 grain flavor.

I know +P is no problem.
My favorite is 115gr Cor Bon.
I don't know about mags, check CDNN

I didn't think you could shoot +P+ with a stock glock barrel. I know with aftermarket fully supported barrels you can but I was under the impression +P in 9mm or .40 could = boooooom.

My department, 65 sworn officers, issues G17's, department issued ammo is required for duty and off duty.  They issue Win Ranger 115 +p+.  These Glocks have fired many thousands of the +p+ rounds.  There have been no failures from this.

I'm not a big Glock fan, but the do work, and they're plenty stout for +p+.

9mm Glocks have fully supported chambers.

I shoot Speer gold dot 124 +p out of my Glock19 just fine.

WHY?

Because it's been surpassed by superior designs.  Gold Dots, Ranger Ts, HST all are better in terms of reliable expansion and penetration both with and without cloth barriers.

I prefer 147 HSTs myself.

NO autopistol has a fully supported chamber.

And again, 9mm Glocks are just fine with +p and +p+, just to reassure the OP.

Answers:

1. Yes.
2. I use Winchester Ranger 124 gr. +P's. Speer Gold Dots are very popular also.
3. I've bought a few from OMB Express. They sell Glock Mags for $17.99 and they had great service.  OMB Express Glock Mags

Enjoy the G19. I love mine. They're great little pistols.
