Anyone using the Vicker extended magazine release made by Tango Down? If so do you find it to be a worthwhile upgrade?

I have no experience with these but I think I soon will. I do not care at all for the factory extended release and while I have no issues with the stock release I think I am going to try a couple of the Vickers / Tango Down ones on my G17 and G19.

I have always been one of those "keep your Glock stock" type of guys but I think the Vickers Extended Magazine Release is worthy upgrade and I'm running them on 4 of my Glocks now (I need to order two more).

For $15, not worth it IMO.

I have never had a problem with the stock mag release.

I use them.  Eliminates the problems I had with the factory extended release and allows a positive mag drop everytime.

+1 I really like the Vickers mag release and feel that it is worth the $12. I have them installed on all my Glocks.

I just cut down the extended to the vickers length, been doing that for years.  The ext is to long, and the stock is just a little short except for a CCW gun.

Ditto. Worth every penny and then some to me.

I have done this as well, but now I don't have too. The Vkrs/TD is the perfect size and the finished product looks a whole lot better than my sorry WESCOG skills.

Here you go: HERE

They are longer than a standard mag release but shorter than the OEM extended mag release. The corners are also slightly rounded and not sharp like the extended ones I've tried. While I've never had a problem with the standard mag release I do run CTC grips on several of my Glocks and the stock is too short but the Vickers mag release is perfect while running the grips.

I've never had a problem with the stock release.  Then again, I don't have girlie hands either  I also shoot left hand and use my finger.  I can see where it might help some folks.

I bought a generic extended magazine release from Glockparts.  Cost was $3.

It's a little shorter and the corners are rounded.

As far as "not being worth the money", it's $12. Yes, it's $10 more than a normal extended mag catch, but it's still only $12. We're not talking about Short Dot prices here.

Hey Mud,

It is rounded and does not have sharp corners like the OEM part.  I guess you could sand/file the OEM to knock off the corners.  Also the height is in between the two OEM parts...right in the middle.  The only problem I had with the extended OEM part was the fact that it would some times engage in my holster and my mag would drop.  I like the vickers, cause it does not cause holster drama and allows my med size mitts to drop mags without having to readjust my hold.

i liked em...but not enough to warrant a change on all my glocks

YMMV

+ another....

A G21 release is $3.00 and is 'extra' length for a G17. takes a couple quick hits with a flat file and its 'vickers' length for $10 less. If the checkering on the Vickers is worth the $10 to you then by all means buy it - other wise just file down the factory part.
