I put some on my G19. They take some getting used to. First two runs in IDPA I did not do very well, but last week I ran the XS sights again and did fine. I just put Glock steel sights on the rear and a trijicon front on the rest of my Glocks. I'm not sure I would buy the XS again, but they work and they are fast, but I seem to be just as fast with the stock pattern |
I'll answer your question in reverse: 1. Stock Glock sights don't exactly suck, but they ain't that great either. Lots of great aftermarket products are available (I'm partial to Novak's products). 2. I really like the XS (formerly Ashley) sight system, but I think their real strength is for CCW purposes, not competition. I had XS night sights (small front dot) on my G39 and loved 'em. But then, dot over post (or dot over bar) is my favorite sight alignment setup. |

I use the XS small dot sights on my 1911 and my G34 and I like them very much. I had the big dot first but it was too big for USPSA matches when targets were a little further out. I have shot several USPSA matches with them on the 1911 and I think they are pretty fast. Mainly I have them for CHL/CCW reasons. I would use them on any handgun I carried for self defense. Try them and I bet you will like them too! Cheers, EMSflyer |
Do you run the Big Dot, or Standard XS sights? Is the "golf ball" too big and pronounced with the shorter sight radius of a subcompact G26/27? Would Standard XS sights be slightly more precise? Just wondering. I have the same questions as the OP. Thanks. |

i think the bigger golf ball front sight it more for large targets at close range. ive been looking at the smaller sized sights. i would still like to be able to shoot at a longer distance (if i have too) and not have the target covered up by that big golf ball. |
