| Ok, here is the deal. I purchased a used aftermarket barrel for my G21 to just shoot lead indoors. The last time I took it to the range to put some lead through it the majority of the rounds would not chamber completely even though they fit in the case gauge fine. I figured I just had some lead build up so after cleaning it I tried to cycle some rounds with it and the only ones that even work a little bit are ones I have loaded with a really tight crimp. All others will not chamber and it leaves a little gouge on the very end of the case and a little bit onto the bullet. Then when I test with my factory barrel everything fits fine. Anyone know why this might be happening? |
Sorry, I beleive it is a KKM. I know it is stupid not to know but I really do not use it much as it is just for lead shooting inside during the winter. |
+1 imo, the 2 KKMs i tried also suffered from similar problems--i called em, and they told me that some 'filing' and 'smoothing' might be needed to properly feed and chamber the rnds (it was a HK USP 45f) ![]() i did what the guy recommended, and it ran fine w/ some ammo...i got tired of it and sold it from now on, only Lone Wolf and Jarvis replacement bbls are my choices and recommendations |

A while back I had a 6" KKM barrel for my Glock 24 in .357 SIG. The barrel did look very nice. Installed it to my G24 and tried to shoot it. The rounds would hang up on the feed ramp. I then compared it to my Bar-Sto .357 SIG barrel for my G22 and the feed ramp angles were off from the KKM. I reshaped and re-polished the KKM barrels feed ramp, and the barrel / gun combo ran without a hitch. 1" groups with Cor-Bon 125 gr JHP. :) My #1 choice is still Bar-Sto, then Jarvis, then Wilson, and Lone Wolf. |

I am only familar w/ Bar-Sto, Lone Wolf and Wilson (big surprise there huh? Note: not all these barrel brands were for Glocks as I have 1911s too.... mike |
