| I have an carry a 19 on a daily basis. How much lighter and smaller will a 26 feel? |
| Most people end up with the extended mag in the 26, as the 2 finger grip is totally gay, so if you do that it is probably almost the same size, but the 26 w/ 10 round mag fits in the inside pocket on my blazer nice, where a bigger grip wouldn't. Barrel length normally isn't an issue for concealment, in fact I feel like a longer barrel would be more secure for IWB carry, the shorty wants to flip and go outside.(never has though) |
I also have both, but almost always carry the G26. I know that technically the G19 isn't much bigger than the G26, but it just feels a lot bigger to me when I try to carry it. (I do love shooting the G19 better though!) |

I hava 26 an thats my primary carry gun. Normally I have a 19 mag with a slip over grip thingy and a spare 10rd mag in my pocket (I wear carpenter jeans and it fits nicely in one of the pockets.) The way I look at it: if you buy a 19, you can only make it bigger, as in put a 17 mag in it. If you buy a 26 you can do like I do and carry it with a 19 mag, but if I need to go smaller, I can always throw a 26 mag in it just my $.02 |
| There isn't that much weight savings between the 2 empty, but you get more capacity with the 19, which adds to the weight. I say go with the 19 all the time. If you add a mag extension (for the finger groove) to the 26, it ends up close to the same size. Might as well get a better grip and go with the 19. But in case your clothes are that tight, or your pressed for space, get a Kel-Tec P32 and call it a day. |
I agree. Much of how well your gun is concealed may have to do with your holster. What kind of holster do you use with your 19 currently? |
