| I just got some Trijicon sights for my G19. How in the hell do I swap them out? Please don't tell me I need to buy some special tool. |
Meaning you don't want me to tell you? Cause there is a special tool... ![]() Although I have head of people doing it with a hammer and a punch, all my sights have been swapped out using the Glock tool for rear sights, and the special screwdriver with the hex head socket on it for the front sight. Did you mail-order the sights? Most places that sell the sights will have a service to put them on for you. Too bad you aren't here in TX, I could do the work for you. |

I put Meprolight night sights on my G26. Drifting the rear sight on with a brass punch was easy. I used a tiny socket to tighten the hex head screw that fastens the front sight. A little locktite, a little patience and voila! Rock solid. I have no idea about Trijicon sights, however. Best of luck. |
I got them on using your method. I used a punch to pop out the front sight and a little 5mm socket with a dab of locktite to install the new one. I just used a small flat head screwdriver and a hammer to punch out the old rear sight. Installing the new rear sight was a little more tricky. Pushed it in as far as I could by hand then covered the slide and sight with a cloth and tapped it in with a hammer till centered. The end result looks good, but I plan on going to the range tomorrow to make sure it did not drift out too much to one side or the other. Thanks for the replies. |
