Am thinking of purchasing a G19 & G26 in OD. One of the dealers I spoke to said that the OD fades and/or discolors over time. Have been reading over the various Glock forums for several months and have never heard of this. Any input from long time owners with "real world" experience would be much appreciated.

TIA

Don't buy from him he's a moron, Does the black fade, I DONT THINK SO.  I have had a OD 23 for several years.  They dont fade, their not painted OD and the green does not chip away.  Its solid OD cast frame.

sorry and I forgot my real world experience is as a Glock armorer and LEO.  My 23 has been in and out of the holster for years.

The dealer you spoke to has no freakin' idea what he is talking about. NONE. If you want an OD Glock, you should get one. It's not going to fade, chip, etc. Have fun with it!

He's an idiot. It is called molded in color. The color is the material.

Ask him what color it fades into. I'd be real curious what he comes up with.

Then ask him if the black Glocks fade into gray.

Good on you for not taking him at his word.

Welcome to the forum, now go find a new gun shop to frequent as the one you are dealing with is an uninformed idiot.

It fades where you hold it, after a month there is a permanent hand print.
